Most of July 2008 is a blur for me. I started it off in California for the wildfires and ended it in South Texas for Hurricane Dolly. The last one was particularly hard, starting each day at 5 am and ending well after midnight. No days off for about 2 weeks. I enjoy the work but really started thinking I am getting too old for this. I don’t wear as well as I used to. Add to it that I really miss my family and my home chapter doesn’t have a CEO while I am away, so I think I am going to have to stay put for a while. I’m afraid to go into my office and see what is waiting for me!
Austin starts school on August 11 and that will end most of the travel anyway. I really need to be here to coordinate field trips and teacher appreciation events, not to mention staying on him about homework. Second grade is going to be quite an experience for him and I don’t want to miss a minute of it.
Hmmm. I’m watching the Weather Channel and see we might have a new tropical depression forming off the coast of Mississippi. Maybe I spoke too soon.
